Your Happy Passover Renewal Project update
As you might expect, work continues on Phase 1 of our project right through Passover (other than on the actual chagim). When you look around the new construction it seems like walls have popped up everywhere these last couple of weeks. The brand new administration wing offices have been outlined with steel studs. The catering kitchen off the new Family Chapel is now defined. The Youth Lounge on the third floor is taking shape. And the gorgeous new meeting space on the third floor is really beginning to shine.
All of the glass panels of the skylight are now in place with the exception of one section that has intentionally been left open so our contractor can hoist materials into the new Atrium. The curtain wall (the striking glass panels that will define the Ava Road main entrance) has now been measured and ordered, and will arrive soon. With the installation of the curtain wall we’ll be able to close off the entire Atrium, protecting the site, and the construction within, from the elements.
As you know, Phase 1 of our Project includes not only our light-filled Central Atrium, but also our brand new Family Chapel, Café, Youth Lounge, Judaica Shop, Library, modern heating and cooling systems and more … all in a LEED Silver Certified, environmentally-friendly building.
Aleinu … It is upon US.
And please don’t forget about our shared (and attainable) goal to fully fund Phase 1 construction in time for Rosh Hashanah, this fall. We’re currently at almost $27.5 million raised, which means we have just over $4 million to go. To begin a conversation about your Renewal commitment, payment over time and the inherent tax advantages (particularly relevant at this time of year), please contact our Director of Development, Jonathan Ain at jain@holyblossom.org or 416.789.3291 ext. 249. Chag Sameach to all, and as always, we thank you for your continued readership, viewership and support (financial and otherwise) of our Renewal Project.
