You are invited!
The Renewal Project Engagement Committee is delighted to announce its first two “in the building” congregation-wide meetings, to take place on Wednesday August 21 at 10 a.m. and on Tuesday August 27 at 7:30 p.m.
Each meeting will consist of a small group conversation with a representative of our architects, Diamond Schmitt, and representatives of the Renewal Project. Together, participants will tour our Temple building to discuss their vision for its future uses and programs. A tour will take about 60 minutes.
In order to ensure the tours are small enough to enable meaningful discussions, each will be limited to 20 people.
Please sign up by clicking below and indicate whether you wish to participate in the morning or evening tour. We will confirm your participation within 24 hours.
Some of our young members are also organizing a Congregational tour for teens on July 31 (dinner at 6:15; tour to follow). Please sign up by clicking below if you are interested.
Invitations are also going out to the congregants who signed up for two of the face to face meetings around the Renewal Project announced in Life at Holy Blossom, with other pre-school families and with primary school through to bar mitzvah aged kids. If the time of the face to face event for which you signed up and to which you will receive an invitation is not convenient, we hope you will sign up for a congregational tour instead. Other face to face meetings will be announced shortly.
As a reminder, the face to face groups are:
- Parents with (or planning to have) pre-school children (to meet in Temple on August 9, 2013, at 9:30 a.m.; child care will be available; please sign up right away by clicking below)
- Parents with primary school age through to bar mitzvah kids (please sign up right away by clicking below)
- Families with post bar mitzvah kids (kids to be included at their option)
- Generation Aleph
- Boomers
- Seniors
And to everyone who responded to the online discussion or to our suggestion box, thank you so much. These comments have been tremendously useful. Please accept our thanks once again. And please feel free to join us on a tour or to sign up for a face to face discussion.
We are delighted to introduce Jessie Waese, the representative of Diamond Schmitt who will be joining each face to face meeting and each tour. Jessie is working alongside with Martin Davidson and Jack Diamond – our architectural team for the renewal project. She received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Toronto. She is a licensed architect with more than a decade of professional practice. Since joining Diamond Schmitt Architects in 2002, she has worked on many types of large and small-scale institutional projects across North America. Jessie is highly regarded for her ability to work successfully with architectural teams, clients and consultants.
We look forward to the next phase of our Congregational Discussion.

I want to thank everyone involved, especially Harvey Schipper, for making a tremendous effort to reach out to the congregation. Actions always speak louder than words. I have faith that under Harvey’s leadership Holy Blossom’s members will feel more connected and valued.
