Yom Ha’Atzmaut: show and share my pride, my Israel
It is hard to believe how fast the time runs and we are here in Israel already close to a week. It feels as we we have been here for ages. Our Holy Blossom YOM HASHOAH TO YOM HA’ATZMAUT mission is proceeding according to schedule from every aspect of planning. Logistically programmatically and spiritually we all are on a high. From the first moment after our landing we have pushed non stop with learning, sight seeing, experiencing and mingling with the local Israeli population literally in every corner.
My dream has come true as I envisioned the mission to lift our spirits and awareness of this special unique moment in the lives of our people in Israel.
To witness and observing Israelis visiting the new Rabin center and learn about the late Yitzchak Rabin the PALMACH(nik) member and the HAGANAH leader is an experience by itself. To watch our group respond with teary eyes as we sang HATIKVAH at independence hall listening to the one and only vivacious voice of David Ben Guryon deceleration of the Jewish state can not be described in earthly simple words.
We feel as if we are climbing up hill of spiritual steps, from devastation of the holocaust remembrance, standing still in dead silence all the way to YOM HA’ATZMAUT celebrations with our brothers and sisters in Israel.
I will have a chance to write and describe the moving national ceremony, remembering the Warsaw GEHTTO uprise and the heroic spirit of GEHTTO fighters in its 70th anniversary year.
The most moving sight was to experience a multitude of youngsters from all the youth movements representing the future hopeful generation marching down The stadium with burning torches.
Non of us could hold back our tears of pride when we was soldiers marching down the stadium with Israeli flags as witnesses of a determined future and commitment to the existence and protection of Israel the Jewish state.
More and more and with each day we anticipate the ascend to Jerusalem to take part in the dress rehearsal extravaganza of HAR (“mt”)HERZEL lighting the torches of Independence Day celebration.
Our awareness and connection, commitment to Israel is by being right here at this time with our people.
For this I give thanks to God for letting me be here, show and share my pride, my Israel.
CHAG SAMEACH
BENY and HOPE
My husband and I were delighted to be part of The Cantor Beny and Hope Maissner Israel Tour in celebration of Israel’s 65th birthday. What a privilege it was to witness the Yom HaShoah and Yom Hazikron commemorations and the Yom Haatzmaut celebrations in solidarity with the many who have lost their friends and family and still rejoice in this magnificent country.
We also saw the past and the future in many presentations and monuments, archeological sites, museums and developments. We left no stone unturned!
Am Israel Chai!
