YEC – Monday November 28 – Grade 7
Playing a few rounds of “Four Corners” gave our Grade 7 students a chance to review and process their field trip to the Orthodox synagogue, Shaarei Shomayim. The conversation with the students was very thoughtful – each students had an opportunity to share their views and opinions. Students generally had a greater understanding of Orthodox Judaism after our visit and it made them more comfortable in their own beliefs as Reform Jews.
The greatest comment that was heard was – “We aren’t that different, we all are Jewish”.
Our 2nd hour was spent with our shinshinnim, where we learned about the many “faces of Israel”, various ethnic groups that live in Israel.
