Like Dreamers; the Story of the Israeli Paratroopers Who Reunited Jerusalem and Divided a Nation by Yossi Klein Halevi

In 1967  Israel won the Six-Day War and one of the triumphs was the reunification of Israeli West Jerusalem and Jordanian East Jerusalem. This was accomplished by a group from the 55^th Paratroopers Reserve Brigade.

Halevi tracks down 7 members and traces their lives in the following years. While united in their experiences with the paratroopers, it is fascinating to hear & see the ideological differences that emerge so strongly  and that reflect modern Israel today. A fascinating read.

Fackenheim’s Jewish Philosophy; an Introduction by Michael L. Morgan

This book explores the pivotal themes of Fackenhem’s philosophical and religious thought. The author traces the influences of Kant, Hegel, and rabbinic midrash on his works. The last chapter evaluates Fackenheim’s legacy for present and future Jewish philosophy.
