Wednesday November 15, 2017 – Fairlawn Campus
This week the Shinshinim Noa and Ido joined our class. They taught us some really fun games. Then they had the students do an activity about animals and they had to choose if they thought that animal was from Israel, Africa, or Canada. This was a really fun game as we learned that in Israel they have a lot of cats and boars. In Canada we have a lot of squirrels and raccoons. It was a pleasure to have them join us this week and can’t wait for them to join us again in a few weeks.
In Grade 3 we learned a little bit more about mitzvot and we focused on Bikkur Cholim, vising the sick. They learned that it’s a mitzvah to go and visit someone who is not well and to help them out by bringing them a meal or if they are friends, some homework that they missed at school. The JK, SK, and Grade 1s learned the Hebrew word Degel which means flag and drew a flag of Israel.
Next week, we will continue with the theme of Mitzvot and learn about new mitzvot that is essential in Judaism. The JK, SK, and Grade 1s will learn a new Hebrew word Havdalah. I’m also planning on doing a Havdalah lesson with them, which will be a lot of fun.
Sincerely,
Daniella Lebow
