Wednesday May 4 – Tali
Today we remembered the 6,000.000 Jewish people as well as all the other affected by the holocaust, in honor of Holocaust memorial day. We learned about Chrystal night. From November 9th to the 10th, 1938, an incident known as “Kristallnacht”, the Nazis in Germany torched synagogues; vandalized Jewish homes, schools and businesses and killed close to 100 Jews. In the aftermath of Kristallnacht, also called the “Night of Broken Glass,” some 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and sent to Nazi concentration camps. I shared some stories I heard as a child as both my parents were in a concentration camps. To ease the hard feelings, we then watched part of a movie – “Joseph and the Multicolored Dream Coat”. At the end of class, we played a game and learned more facts about Israel with our beautiful Shinshinim.
