Update from the Senior Cantor Search Committee (August 2019)
Thank you to all congregants who participated in the Senior Cantor Search Committee’s listening campaign. It was wonderful to have such enthusiasm discussing the future of music and chazanut at Holy Blossom Temple in the four open forums, many focus groups, and congregational-wide survey. Your excellent input allowed us to create a Senior Cantor job description based on the collective vision and perspectives of our membership. Many thanks again for your time and contributions!
We are delighted that as of mid-August, the posting for the position of Senior Cantor at Holy Blossom appeared on the American Conference of Cantors (ACC) website. While postings are not publicly available to non-members, the job board can be seen by all ACC members in placement. The search committee is excited that we have moved to this next step. We look forward to the reception and review of applications in the coming weeks.
In addition, we have been granted permission to post the position with the Conservative cantorial association, the American Cantors Assembly (CA). This posting gives us a wider field from which to find the best possible person for Senior Cantor. Postings through this organization become available to their members at the beginning of November.
We look forward to seeing many of you at High Holy Days services next month, starting with the special Selichot service arranged by the Celebrations Committee on September 21 at 9:00 pm.
