Tot Shabbat / Hot Shot Shabbat
Tot Shabbat
Children Five and Younger are often inviting their parents to “join them” for this twice-monthly service!
It is warm, fun, and engaging. Our professional song leaders David Gershon and Mark Weinstock plus a rabbi join together to engage both parents, grandparents, and children in singing, dancing, theatre, and similar creative modes of prayer. There is lots of laughter and precious moments created.
On the first Friday of the month, our service is followed by an optional fresh and delicious pot-luck Shabbat dinner. On the third Friday of the month, our service is followed by an optional craft which picks up on the Shabbat and Holiday theme, providing a take-home piece to enjoy for the weeks and years to come.
Hot Shot Shabbat
Community is created through this once-monthly program for our oldest young ones!
Children Six through Twelve join their parents and peers in our Kabbalat Shabbat Youth Chapel service for the first twenty minutes. Our children have the option of following along through two prayer books—one like their parents and the other a sophisticated younger version. Then, our Israeli emissaries lead our older children to an area of their own for snack, creative study, and engaging activity for the next twenty minutes.
The program concludes with the final blessings of Kiddish and Motzi in the Youth Chapel, after which time there is an optional fresh and delicious pot-luck Shabbat dinner for the entire family.
