Through Rain, Through Fog … Plumbing and Electrical work never stops.
Despite the fact that the rainy weather continues to slow down the important structural steel framing work that needs to be completed before our new Central Atrium can be closed in, critical progress has continued deep down in the lowest levels of the campus we continue to occupy.
Our plumbing crew have been working in our boiler room on the infrastructure necessary to add modern sprinkler pipes to all of our new spaces. Our electricians are also hard at work, preparing to bring in our new transformer which will provide ample, reliable power to the building and replace the aged, old equipment currently found in a remote underground vault. All-new switches and control panels are being installed to accommodate this new transformer and we’re working toward a deadline prior to Labour Day, so that the new system can be in place in advance of the High Holy Day season. There may be a very short electrical shutdown during the last week of August in order to cut over from one transformer to the other … we’ll keep you posted on this as timing becomes more clear.
It’s truly astonishing that, despite the massive scale of construction on Phase 1 of our Renewal Project, Holy Blossom continues to operate on-site as a fully functioning synagogue, offering all of the programs and services you enjoy so much. Thanks to all our dedicated clergy, staff, volunteers, architects and contractors for helping make our present as pleasant and workable as it is, as we see HBT’s future take shape right before our eyes.
As you know, Phase 1 of our Renewal Project includes our transformative Central Atrium, brand new Family Chapel, Café, Youth Lounge, Judaica Shop, Library, and more … all in a LEED Silver Certified, environmentally-friendly building.

As always, we thank you for your continued readership, viewership and support (financial and otherwise) of our Renewal Project at Holy Blossom.
