Three Favourite Essays
I love long essays combining fluid writing and substance on something or someone I’m curious about. Here are three such essays — for a quiet weekend afternoon, or a plane ride, or when sleep fails.
I’ll send such essays from time to time. For now:
- Paul Berman’s remarkable 2007 New Republic expose of Tariq Ramadan
- David Remnick’s 2012 New Yorker probing portrait of Bruce Springsteen
- and Norman Doidge’s exploration of the legacy of Oliver Sacks, published just weeks ago in the Globe and Mail.
Read and share, and if you’re so inclined, click here to send me your favourite such essays.
