The new elevator is here!
Renewal construction updates (almost) as they happen, for the week of July 27, 2015.
It was a momentous day for our Renewal Project, last Tuesday. Our new elevator cab was delivered! If you’ve been an avid reader (and why wouldn’t you be?) of these construction updates, you’ll know that we’ve been digging the pit and installing the shaft for our new campus elevator these last many months, in order to provide complete accessibility to our school wing and keep our Temple programming intact during the whole of Phase 1 construction. With delivery of the cab, we are only weeks away from commissioning the new elevator!
The second and third floor Rabbinic and administrative offices are also very close to completion, as are our new men’s and women’s accessible washrooms on our lower level.
A reminder that during the upcoming High Holy Days, our Main Sanctuary, Eisendrath Auditorium and Philip Smith Hall will be in full use. While we will have reduced space in the Philip Smith Foyer and the Enkin Boardroom, our rabbinic/cantorial team and our lay leaders have been working hard to schedule all available spaces. And, don’t worry, appropriate wayfinding signage will be in place!
As always, we thank you for your ongoing support and patience throughout the process. For the most up to date photos and video of construction in progress, including the delivery of our new elevator cab, please click here.
