The Minor Prophets: Road Stories – Greater Cincinnati

In the mid Aughts the Minor Prophets were making a reputation for ourselves in the greater Cincinnati area among Jews who liked liturgically based rock music.

One day we found out that Rick Recht was going to be playing the big room at Hebrew Union College. (Rick Recht, if you don’t know, is one of the biggest names in Jewish rock music—huge on the summer camp/youth group conclave circuit.) We were psyched when he asked us to open for him . . . or maybe we called up his manager and said that we can open for him if he likes . . . I don’t really remember. It was such a crazy time.

So, anyways, the MPs are opening for Rick, and boy oh boy did we warm that crowd up. The youth groupers and rabbinical students didn’t know what hit them.
