Sunday September 24, 2017 – Jaclyn
Dear Grade 2 Parents,
This morning we spoke about the upcoming holiday, Yom Kippur. We learned about the various traditions observed during this time such as fasting, not wearing leather shoes, repentance, and briefly exploring the prayer service. We are currently in the midst of “the 10 Days of Awe”. The students took part in an activity where they reflected on their past mistakes, as well as brainstormed and listed several Mitzvot that they would want to fulfil in the upcoming year. In Hebrew, we practiced three new letters: Kaf, Lamed, and Hay.
Next week we are having a school- wide event for the holiday Sukkot, and parents are invited to come to class and help us decorate and celebrate! I am so excited and am looking forward to seeing everyone and their families next Sunday!
Jaclyn
