Sunday October 15, 2017 – Daniella
Dear Parents,
This week we all reviewed our Hebrew names and share about the mitzvot that we did this week. The students learned that a Mitzvah is when you do a good deed for someone, like open the door for the elderly. We also talked about Tzedakah and how important it is to give back to our community and help those who are less fortunate then us.
We are continuing to learn the Aleph-Bet and this week our letter was Bet and the word that we learned was Bayit (house). They all did some very nice designs in their workbooks for the letter Bet. On Thursday it was Simchat Torah and we spoke about how this is the time that we finish reading the Torah and we begin reading it again. In addition, we learned what is on the Torah, a crown and a breastplate. There is also a pointer that is used to read the Torah so that we don’t touch the ink, which is called a Yad, which means hand.
Next week we will continue with learning the Aleph-Bet and our next letter will be Gimmel and the Hebrew word we will learn is Glidah (ice cream). We will also have the pleasure of having the Shinshinim in our class, which will be a lot of fun. I would really appreciate it if you could bring Tzedakah for next week.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Daniella Lebow
