Sunday November 6, 2017 – Daniella
Our lesson this week started out looking at a Havdalah candle, since this is our Hebrew word and the letter Hay. We light the Havdalah candle when Shabbat is over to bring in the new week and we say Shavua Tov (have a good week). Then we had the pleasure of having our Shinishim in our class today where we played a memory game. We found pictures of special places in Israel and then put them on the Israeli map. Some of the pictures we learned about were the Western Wall and the Dead Sea. In addition, we listened to Lisa read us a book about Jacob and sons and learned that Jacob had twelve sons and his favourite son was Joseph. We also watched a short clip from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In this clip we see that Jacob gives Joseph a technicolour dreamcoat that his brothers were very jealous of.
Next week, we will be learning the Hebrew letter Vav and the Hebrew word Vered (rose). We will be continuing to be learning about Jacob, Leah, Rachel and Joseph. Please if you could bring Tzedakah to class next week that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Daniella Lebow
