Sunday November 5, 2017 – Grade 2
Dear Grade 2 Parents,
In this week’s class, we learned about Shabbat. We discussed the importance of Shabbat being a special day, a day of rest, different from the rest of the week. We explored the traditional customs that we do such as; lighting Shabbat candles, the Kiddush, and eating challah. We also practiced reciting the various prayers over the candles, wine and challah, and each student had the chance to make and decorate their very own Kiddush cup.
During our Hebrew lesson, we learned two new letters: Tsadee and Ayin, as well as two new vowels: cheereek and tzayreh.
