Sunday May 8 – Tali
Dear Parents:
We dedicated our lesson to Israel’s 68th birthday that will take place this coming Thursday. We talked about the reasons that lead to the declaration of Israel’s Independence, the Israeli flag, the emblem, the Hebrew language and the national anthem. We also looked at some of Israel’s great inventions that are being used all over the world. We also learned that the day before we celebrate our independence, we observe a memorial day, remembering the soldiers and people that have lost their lives in terrorists attacks.
We started discussing Shavout which is the last holiday in the Jewish calendar and will continue talking about it next week, which is the last week of school for the year.
In Hebrew we read again the prayer for welcoming Shabbat – “Lecha Dodi”.
