Sunday May 8 – Daniella
Dear Parents:
We finished the Aleph-Bet with the Hebrew letters Shin and Taf. The new words we learned were Shofar and Torah. The Shofar we hear on Rosh Hashanah to remind us of the commandments. The Torah we read on Shabbat and special holidays. During class this week, we discussed what Yom Ha’atzmaut is, which is the Independence Day for Israel’s birthday. Then we talked about Shavuot, which is when the Jewish people received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. We made our very own Ten Commandments. Lastly, we discussed the treatment of animals and that we must treat them kindly.
Next week is our last week of Sunday school and I am looking forward to seeing you all there. It is also Mitzvah Day and we will be celebrating at Leo Baeck Day School, if you would like to come please accompany and walk your child over there at 11:30pm. We will be having a fun filled day with games in our class and a fun farewell. I hope to see you all there!
Thanks,
Daniella
