Sunday February 5 – Daniel
Dear Parents:
This week, the grade three class continued our preparations for our Mock Wedding. We are lucky to be celebrating the wedding just after Tu B’shvat, so the students brainstormed the different kinds of fruits that grow on trees and we are each bringing one kind of fruit as a snack for the celebration. We learned about the 7 traditional agricultural products that are recognized at Tu B’shvat: wheat, barley, grapes, figs, dates, pomegranates, and olives.
We will be celebrating with our bride and groom and we have learned about the ketubah, the custom of the bride circling the groom 7 times, the reciting of the sheesh berachot, and the breaking of the glass. It is going to be fantastic seeing the whole ceremony modelled for us this coming week! Please make sure to either dress in fun/fancy for the wedding, or like a tree with brown and green!
Thanks,
Daniel
