Sunday February 26 – Daniella
Dear Parents,
This week we learned the Hebrew letter, Resh. Our Hebrew word was Rimonim. which are the silver bells on top of the Torah and make it look great! We had the pleasure to have our Shinshinim come to our class today where we learned a new game and played bingo. The game that we played was a game they played in Israel while growing up. We also played bingo and learned a lot about Israel like; what a Shekel is, that Tel Aviv is a city, David Ben-Gurion was the first Prime Minister of Israel, the Hatikvah is the national anthem, Hummus, and Greece.
Since Purim is coming soon we made Raashan’s (grogger) out of macaroni and cheese boxes that we decorated and covered. I would really appreciate if you could donate the box to your local food drive once you are finished using them.
Next week we will be learning the Hebrew letter Shin. The word that we will be learning is Shofar. In addition, we will begin to learn about Passover. We will be learning about the Seder and identifying the symbols of the Seder like the Seder plate, Afikomen, Elijah’s cup, and Miriam’s cup. The students will be learning what the symbols on the Seder plate mean and we will begin learning the four questions the Ma Nishtana. If you could also remember to bring Tsedakah each week that would be great!
Sincerely,
Daniella Lebow
