Sunday April 30, 2017 – Daniella
Dear Parents,
This week we continued to review the Aleph Bet. We reviewed the words that we learned this year and which Hebrew letter it starts with. They all did an amazing job remembering what we have learned! Our class had the pleasure of having the Shinshinim, Gil and Noga teach us about Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel’s Birthday). We watched a short video about how they celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut in Israel. Some of the ways they celebrate is by watching fireworks and dancing with the Israeli flag. The students wrote nice letters for Yom Ha’atzmaut wishing Israel to be a safe place. Gil and Noga will put these letters in the Western Wall in Israel.
Next week, we will continue to review the Aleph Bet. We will also be learning about Shavuot. Shavuot is the Jewish holiday where we celebrate the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai. A few reminders – Grade 1s are invited to Shabbat services and dinner this Friday, May 5, 2017 at 6pm. Please click on this link to register: https://holyblossomarchives.org/event/family-first-friday-may-5-2017/ I would love to see you all there! I just wanted to let you know there is a marathon on next Sunday on Yonge street if you live east of Yonge street you won’t be able to cross over in the morning at designated intersections. If you could please bring Tzedakah each week I would really appreciate it. See you next week!
Sincerely,
Daniella Lebow
