Sunday April 23 – Jaclyn & Rebekah
Dear Grade 2 Parents,
In this week’s class, we learned about Yom HaShoah and Yom Ha’Atzmaut- two significant days on the Jewish calendar. As a class, we discussed why it’s important to remember those who passed in the Holocaust and the various ways in which we can commemorate them.
In an activity with the Shinshinim, students were able to listen to stories from Holocaust survivors. Furthermore, we learned about Yom Ha’Atzmaut, and how Theodore Herzel’s dream became a reality. We created a Happy Birthday banner for Israel in order to prepare for the upcoming celebrations. In Hebrew, we studied three new letters- Zayin, Tsadie and Final Tsadie.
