Shabbat Family Education Programs
All Holy Blossom Temple families in Grades JK-5 are invited to join us for our Shabbat Daytime Family Education Programs. Jewish Day School families are encouraged to participate. Religious School families have been asked to register for at least two of them.
The program will begin at 9 a.m. with a light snack followed by a creative education program for the entire family, participation in the Family Service with breakout groups for students and study sessions for adults, followed by a community lunch. We will conclude by 1 p.m.
We already have over 15 families registered. Join in on the fun!

“May You Be a Blessing” – October 19
One tradition says that we are to recite 100 blessings a day! What are the blessings of our tradition? Are they related to every day events or only special occasions or both? Join this session and explore this and more.
“Sacred Texts of our Tradition” – November 16
The Torah launched the corpus of books from our tradition, but there are so many more than just five! This session will address the different major books of the Jewish tradition, and also include the most famous Jewish folklore—and what it all teaches us.
“Shabbat Shalom” – December 14
Achad HaAm famously said, “More than the Jewish people has kept the Sabbath, the Sabbath has kept the Jewish people. This session will explore Shabbat from the three stars which bring it in and the gorgeous Havdalah service with which it ends. And its impact on us.
“Tu B’Shevat revisited” – January 11
Tu B’Shevat, the New Year for Trees, is one subject of this morning’s session. In addition to studying the holiday, we will also study the significance of the earth in our tradition—from recycling to tilling the soil.
“Tikkun Olam” – February 8
Tikkun Olam literally means “repair of the world.” There is a tradition that teaches how we are God’s partner in repairing the world through good deeds, sacred obligations, and other acts of social consciousness. We will explore our tradition’s and your social consciousness.
“Israel Is Real” – April 5
Israel is 65 years young—we will study her history, her people, her language, her symbolism, and more in this special session near the Spring holidays for Israel.
