I believe Holy Blossom Temple history was made this week. Toronto’s first synagogue founded in 1856, as far as we know Adrienne Klein is the first Bat Mitzvah to take up the mitzvah of tefillin. Thursday morning she came with her family to show her enthusiasm for this particular mitzvah, to put on tefillin as soon as she began of age to do so. Rabbi Yael Splansky – Sermon: May 24, 2014.
