Remembering September 11 (part 1)
Over the next 10 days or so, I will post several things—essays and music at least—in remembrance of the horrific morning ten years ago when out of nowhere death and destruction rained down in Manhattan and elsewhere, and when a bright blue September sky became filled with darkness and ashes.
This first piece is a moving essay by the journalist Pete Hamill—his account of his blurry and dazed experiences on September 11, 2001 (from the current issue of The New Republic).
Read his piece, The Changed World.
