Oy! Story
A Purim Mashup
Oy! Can you believe what they are doing to Purim these days?
I remember what my Aunt Mildred used to say – Keep it Simple, you Nincompoop!
And suddenly we have Jewish Toys coming to life to battle an Angry Bird. I mean, I know that the bird has three corners and Haman’s hat had three corners. I am sure there is deep Jewish symbolism here somewhere, but I’m missing it.
What did you say, Sonny? You wanted Frozen to be the Purim theme? Well I wanted to sit around and watch a cat video re-enactment of the Purim story, and all they gave me was a Lion as King – some Simboshverosh or something. Let it Go already.
Anyways, I think I heard that Elsa was going be cast as Vashti, or maybe it was another Princess who was queen.
As long as they don’t re-use those storm-trooper costumes from last year I’ll bring my grandkids. They do like that fishing game at the carnival. And I hear there is a HABSTY Murder Mystery starting at noon for Grade 3+. As King Simboshverosh would say, have a Happy Purrrrrrim! Or, as we say in my family, Oy!
