President’s Address: AGM – Nov. 20, 2011
We are a large congregation with a significant infrastructure – both physical and organizational. If we wish to sustain this community and have the required resources and family units to use these facilities that we will be renewing shortly – we have no choice but to grow our membership – and, as important – to figure out – again quickly – how we are going to use the renewed space. We will need the views of all our members to help us set the direction. We do not have the luxury of time – with new congregations appearing and existing ones remaking themselves – we have to communicate the value of being a member of this synagogue and convey that to our members and unaffiliated Jews within our catchment area.
