Passover Haggadah Choir
I hope this note finds you well and relaxed anticipating the New Year.
Our Rabbis and I have been thinking of how we can engage you and your generation to get involved at Temple in a variety of ways. Music is one of the exciting things we do well at HBT. I am writing to you with the hope of interesting you in this next big exciting project.
On the eve of the seventh day of Passover, April 28, 2016 we have planned to offer our community a different Haggadah Night, a special and different seder with innovative themes incorporating the history and survival of the Passover Haggadah. The music for that evening will be the “Haggadah Suite” by the renowned composer, Srul Irving Glick. The music is scored for choir and string quartet. I am hoping to engage members of the Toronto Symphony and professional musicians.
To that end I am inviting you to come and join us in this endeavour by joining and creating a large chorus. We are holding rehearsals with several options since am involving three of our choirs, our superb Professional Temple Choir, the dedicated Temple Singers and Lachan, my own chamber choir. If you choose (and I hope you do) to join us, we are rehearsing every Sunday morning 10 a.m. – 12 noon as well as Tuesday nights for one hour from 8-9 p.m. in my office at Temple.
Please give yourself a treat and help us bring the best of Jewish music to our community. Please respond to me bmaissner@holyblossom.org or Mari Lynn at mlrusak@holyblossom.org if would like to participate and which session is more convenient for you.
With the hope of seeing you and with warm wishes for a Healthy, Happy New Year,
I am yours,
Beny
(your Young Cantor)
