Our Central Atrium Takes Shape
The last 2 weeks have (finally!) seen less rain on site, and so major progress has been made framing our new Atrium. The crew continued erecting critical steel supports, anchored in cement, that will soon support the new Atrium roof.
However, the most intense work this week continues in the lower-level mechanical room on the School Wing side of the campus as skilled electricians have prepared and installed all of the new switches in their new locations. This, to be ready for the switchover to our new transformer, scheduled for this coming Sunday. On that day, Toronto Hydro, together with our electrical contractor, will isolate the old equipment located in the deepest reaches of the Temple and connect our brand new transformer – mounted on the Dewbourne side of the building. This new transformer will provide efficient power to our campus long into the future.
And just a reminder that, even with the massive scale of construction underway on campus, Holy Blossom continues to operate everyday as a fully functioning synagogue. Including offering our full slate of worship services and programs during the upcoming High Holy Days. How do we do it? Again, many thanks go to our dedicated clergy, staff, volunteers, architects and contractors for helping make our present as workable as it is, as we see HBT’s future take shape right before our eyes.

As you know, Phase 1 of our Renewal Project includes our transformative Central Atrium, brand new Family Chapel, Café, Youth Lounge, Judaica Shop, Library, and more … all in a LEED Silver Certified, environmentally-friendly building.
