October 18 – Grade 3
Dear Parents,
Our day together was an interesting one. We had started with our regular routine; singing Hatikvah, talking about Shabbat highlights, and sharing Tzedaka.
Our focus in in our session was learning about G’milut Chasadim (Acts of Loving Kindness). We teamed up with Grade 2 class (Dara’s class) for this project. (We will be working together often on different projects.) We were so lucky to have Sharon (the Librarian) today. Sharon read us a story about a boy who was only 4 years old and he wanted to make the world a better place. It was a great story.
As a team, we helped each other (Grade 3s helping Grade 2s) making a “Siddur Book mark” that will help everyone to follow in the siddur during our weekly service. Each student created their own using the English/Hebrew names. Also, we learned the song “Al Shlosha D’varim” that we were able to join during service with Mike. Both classes had a fabulous time helping each other and working together as an act of loving-kindness. In addition, during the service, we used the same partners (grade 2 and 3) to sit next to each other and help to follow along in the siddur. Yeshar Koach to our grade 3 of being such great leaders!
In Hebrew, we reviewed our letters and vowels learned the letter “Hay” as in Kalah, Torah and Morah. Please ensure your son/daughter reviews lesson #3 on the website: http://www.behrmanhouse.com/click-and-read-free
Please send a baby picture of your son or daughter for a classroom project. This picture will be glued of a large project and will be sent home at the end of the year.
