November 2 – Grades 8 & 9 – Geri Durbin

In her role as Holocaust Educator, Geri Durbin will spend significant time with every age group sharing and learning about the Holocaust. Last night she worked with Grades 8 & 9.

The grades 8 & 9 began their evening with a word game. The focus of the game was to get them to identify words associated with ‘the Shoah – the Holocaust’. We then began a discussion on the history of Judaism and dispersion.

The students were given some notes to read before the next class to help them progress faster in our study.

I would like to encourage families to read the book Night by Ellie Wiesel. It is a stimulating book and will be a great follow-up to the work we are doing in class.

Reminder – we will all meet at the Holocaust Education Centre on Monday November 16th at 6:30 PM – parents encouraged to join. Please let us know your plans.
