Nov 30 – Grade 10 – Elana
This week the Confirmation class had a great lesson about Jewish communities. We watched two short movie clips – one from the iconic film Fiddler on the Roof and one from the 1999 movie Keeping the Faith. Both film clips were a glimpse into a Jewish community. The former a traditional, rural European, Orthodox community and the latter a modern liberal community in New York. Our class discussed the different traits and values of each community — their difference and their sometimes surprising similarities.
