Nostalgic Reflections
DEAR FRIENDS AND CONGREGANTS
First I want to bless and wish you all a healthy happy and sweet year.
SHANAH TOVA and GMAR CHATIMAH TOVA
With nostalgic reflection I want to share with you something warm hearted amazing experience which came to me right after Rosh Hashanah.
“SWEET SINGER OF ISRAEL” Cantor Shelley Merel (my predecessor) sent me two of these magnificent links to his rendition this Rosh Hashanah, at the young age of 93. Shelley an ultimate exemplary model of the Cantorate, still sings like an angel.
Shelly was my predecessor at Holy Blossom Temple and paved the glorious opportunity for me to succeed him now for the last 38 years.
Many of you can remember his sweet voice and kindness of his personality.
All I can say is we should be blessed to have the clarity, stamina, GUTS, and endurance for many years to come as he demonstrate on these links..
We wish Shelley health happiness and all good warm wishes for a new year.
Enclosed is Shelly’s note to me about his long and beautiful cantorial career.
Listen to the beauty and enjoy the memories of years past
With warm greetings
Beny Maissner
