Monday March 7 – Sam, Daniel & Stuart
Today both grade 7 classes were together for the entire time. They had the opportunity to learn about different Torah scrolls from Rabbi Helfman, and complete that lesson by assembling their yads (pointers for reading Torah). It was an amazing experience for them as they got to create something beautiful and unique to be used as a part of their meaningful ceremony.
The second half we worked with Geri who taught us, through a film about a genocide in Cambodia, and how we can compare/contrast it to the Holocaust and Syrian refugees Canadians are dealing with today.
Overall it was a very meaningful class and the students really enjoyed themselves.
