Monday January 25 – Elana Paice Lidsky
This week, the Confirmation class, along with the rest of the senior school, had an amazing opportunity to hear from a congregant about a very unique experience. Wednesday January 27th is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Congregant Michael Valihora, traveled to Nasielsk, Poland with his daughter Grace (a Holy Blossom senior school alum). They visited this town that was the home of 3,000 Jews before the second word war and of which his grandmother was one of only 100 survivors. The town is the subject of amazing book that will be discussed by the author, Glenn Kurtz, on Wednesday evening at Temple. The class also spent some time learning about the holiday of Tu B’Shevat. Ask the students about the story of Honi and about Herzl’s follows planting in Israel in his memory.
