Honouring Our Loved Ones

 On Monday January 22, Holy Blossom Temple’s Grade 7 class undertook a field trip to Benjamin’s Park Memorial Chapel in Toronto.  Our host, Mr. Marc Benjamin, provided a comprehensive, meaningful and engaging discussion pertaining to death, burial and mourning practices in the Jewish tradition.  We are thankful to Mr. Benjamin for the sensitivity with which we presented these subjects.  

 Our visit to Benjamin’s was an important experience for the Grade 7 students. As they continue to grow and mature, they will also develop their understanding of how honouring the memories of our loved ones is fundamental to our lives – both as Jews and members of the larger community.
