March 3rd in Grade 1

This Sunday morning in grade one, parents and students spent the morning learning about Havdallah with Debbie and Lisa. After some stories, each student created their own Havdallah candle, spice jar Kiddush cup, and decorated a sheet with the blessings. We then turned the lights down, lit a Havdallah candle, and made our own Havdallah service together. Everyone used their own spices to smell, and the candle flame made cool shadows on our hands. As we welcomed the new week together, students shared with the group some things they are looking forward to in this week to come!
