Learning From Bernard Lewis: Read This Essay
Few know Semites and anti-Semites like Bernard Lewis, Professor Emeritus at Princeton, and the leading academic of Near Eastern Studies of our time. I came across this essay from “The American Scholar” a few days ago, and learned a good deal in reading it. I recommend it highly. I tend to avoid things on anti-Semitism (it’s generational as much as a matter of denial), but Bernard Lewis draws me in every time.
Still productive in his mid-nineties, Lewis has a way of making the complex straightforward without pretending away the complexity at the heart of human and political relations.
Have a look here at his essay, “The New Anti-Semitism”(2006)
