“Land Swaps” and the 1967 Border

Since President Obama’s speech at the State Department on May 19th, the idea of “Land Swaps” has moved to centre-stage of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.  The idea isn’t new – it’s been around since at least 1993 – but the president appears to have adopted a new stance: that the negotiations between the two parties ought to based on the 1967 lines, along with agreed upon land swaps.

What does this mean exactly?
