January 17 – Grade 1 – Daniella Lebow
We learned the letter lamed and the Hebrew word Lulav, which is what we use to shake on Sukkot. The students did a fun art activity with the Lamed. As a class we discussed Bikur Cholim, visiting the sick and how it’s a mitzvah to go and visit someone. They came up with a lot of ideas of how we can help someone who is sick, like making them a card or sending them flowers.
Next week, we will be learning the letter Mem and reviewing the letters Kaf and Lamed. We will also be making small plants for Tu Be’shvat.
