January 17 – Grade 1 – Ariella Markus
This Sunday, the grade 1 students learned about the splitting of the Sea of Reeds, and the Jewish people crossing to the other side. We saw that this story was written in the Torah in an artistic way, with large spaces in between each word, so that it looks like a splitting sea. We continued to practice our alef-bet letters, and we traced our hands (yadayim) in honour of the letter Yud. Stay tuned next week, when we will learn about Tu B’Shvat, and the letter Kaf.
And now, here’s a special shout-out to Carly, our wonderful grade 1 assistant. Carly makes sure that each student gets the attention that they need in class, she makes sure that no one goes hungry if they forget their snack, and she makes learning fun! Carly, we are so happy to have you 🙂
