January 11 – Grade 6 – Tali

So good to see everyone back. We started a new unit on Monday – the blessings of the Torah.

We explained how the blessing before reading the Torah has two parts. The first part is the Bar’chu, a call to the congregation to praise God and to let everyone know that we are about to read from the Torah. The second part thanks God for choosing us and giving us the Torah. We read it, chanted it and will continue next week.

In the second hour our Grade 6 students met with Geri Durbin as she continued to explore the message of the Holocaust. This learning will continue throughout the year.
