January 10 – Grade 1 – Daniella Lebow
Today we reviewed the Aleph-Bet by matching the Hebrew letters to their accompanying pictures. We learned the letter Kaf and the Hebrew word Kelev, which means dog.
Since Tu B’Shvat (the New Year of the Trees) is coming up (January 25) we made a classroom tree with everyone’s hand prints on it as the leaves. We had a very fun day.
Next week, we will be learning the letter Lamed. I will also be introducing the mitzvah of Bikur Cholim to the students, which is about helping and visiting the sick. If you could please let your child know we will be discussing this mitzvah, I would really appreciate it to help facilitate our discussion.
Thanks,
Daniella
