Friday night “KABBALAT SHABBAT EXTRAVAGANZA”

EVERY SECOND AND FOURTH FRIDAY NIGHT OF THE MONTH 

Because of the popular success of our congregational band which accompanies us at Kabbalat Shabbat Services once a month, we decided to split the band and offer this exciting and joyful sound to play twice a month.

SERVICES BEGIN WITH A JOYFUL SOUND AT 6:00 p.m.

Our own dedicated skillful and enthusiastic volunteer instrumentalists will play on the second and fourth Friday night.

Imagine the beauty, the joy and the excitement of our Friday night services accompanied by a full-fledged band, made up of guitars, bass, piano, clarinet, flute, banjo, drums, accordion, fiddle, trombone and even French horn.

While we are accustomed to bands at weddings and bar mitzvahs, when we set aside our weekly activities in favour of the spiritual interlude that takes hold as soon as we kindle the Shabbat candles what better place to have a live band than at Temple on Friday night. Please come out in droves with a spirited heart in celebrating Shabbat and join in creating a true vibrant spirit of welcoming Shabbat.

You, the Temple members and guests enhance our service as we worship together and sing our traditional melodies.

I am always looking for new band members. So if you have just learned to play or played an instrument in high school, were in a marching band, a volunteer orchestra or even a klezmer jam group, your participation is welcome. No instrument is disqualified.
