Main Services:

Family Services:

These Services are especially designed for those families with children between six and twelve year of age. While the congregational prayer book is used, the music is highly participatory. A sermon-in-story follows the Torah Service. The atmosphere is both welcoming and festive.

As in the past, due to the high demand for the Late Family Service on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and to be fair to all our congregants with young children, you may choose to come to either the Late Family Service on Rosh Hashanah and the Early Family Service on Yom Kippur, or the Early Family Service on Rosh Hashanah and the Late Family Service on Yom Kippur. This will ensure a seat for everyone. Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first serve basis.

Young Children’s Services:

These Services are especially designed for those families with children five years of age and younger who do not yet read. This Service includes songs, prayers, stories and movement. On Rosh Hashanah, a special treat is included for our youngest congregants to ensure a sweet new year.

Sukkot

Sukkah Decorating – Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 4 pm.
Erev Sukkot Service – Wednesday, Oct 12 at 6 pm.
Congregation-wide Sukkot Morning Services – Thursday, Oct. 13 at 10 am.
Bring your lulav and etrog. Creative children’s programs will be incorporated throughout the Service. After the Service, enjoy a festive kiddush lunch in the sukkah.

Holy Chag Sukkot – Thursday, Oct. 13 at 10 am.  Students from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 6 are invited to join us for a day of Yom Tov programming. For more details and to register, please call Lisa Isen Baumal (ext. 242) at the Temple.

CSA Day On The Farm – Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 pm.  A special invitation goes out to all families with school-aged children. All are invited to work the field for the fall harvest. We’ll meet at one of the local farms which provides Holy Sprouts with weekly organic produce (visit holyblossom.org for details).

Shemini Atzeret

Erev Shemini Atzeret Service – Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 6 pm.
Shimini Atzeret/Yizkor Service – Thursday, Oct 20 at 10 am.
The celebratory notes of the Festival are woven together with the sombre tones of our Yizkor/Memorial Service. Creative children’s programs will be incorporated. A special Kiddush luncheon follows.

Simchat Torah

Consecration Service – Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6 pm.  All Grade 1 students receive their own little Torah Scroll to treasure.
Simchat Torah Flag Making and Parade – Thursday, Oct 20 at 6:15 pm.
Simchat Torah Service and Celebration – Thursday, Oct 20 at 7 pm.
Parade our beautiful Torah scrolls around the Sanctuary. Then dance the night away to the music of Judy and David’s Klezmer band.
