Grade 3 – September 27th
Dear Parents,
On Sunday we were so lucky to have another session with our Shinshinim, Noam and Bar. We made small 3 dimensional Sukkot using various materials. We had so much fun creating and then we brought them down to the large HBT Sukkah where we helped in the decorating. A few of us created a large chain that was hung up and we were so proud of it. Also, we learned about the meaning of the holiday of Sukkot and the four species Lulav, Etrog, Hadas and Arava.
In Hebrew, we recited the blessings for the Lulav and the Sukkah. In addition, we learned the letter “Mem” and the key word Shamash. Every week we will choose two Shamashim to help out in class throughout the day. We ended the lesson with a fun memory holiday game using all the three holidays, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot.
Please ensure your son/daughter practices their Hebrew reading of lesson 2, http://www.behrmanhouse.com/click-and-read-free.
Next week, we will move on to learning about the Jewish Life cycle of Baby naming and the holiday of Simchat Torah. Please, if possible, bring a baby picture of your son/daughter for our special project. In Hebrew we will learn two new letters Kaf and Lamed (lesson #3).
Wishing you and your family an enjoyable Sukkot.
Yours,
Maya Liberman
