For the third year in a row, the Holy Bs will be playing Beth Tikvah for the ISBL trophy!
By Richie Borins.
Congratulations to the Bs on a very exciting and well played game against Temple Kol Ami today. We prevailed over TKA by a 15-10 score, defeating the best defensive team from the regular season.
Offensively, every player who took the field today had at least one hit. David Rosenberg, Josh Silver, Steve Gryfe, Matthew Dicker, Marc Levy and I all went 3 for 4. David, Josh and Steve (our 2, 3 and 4 hitters) scored a combined 7 runs today. Ken Herlin was 2 for 4 including a key double in the 5 run seventh inning. We hit some other hard hit balls that were tracked down by the speedy TKA outfielders.
On the defensive end, there were some great catches in the outfield by the likes of David Rosenberg, Ryan Abrahamson and Adam Griff. Josh Silver made some nice plays at shortstop. One of my favourite plays of the game was when Randy Cass fired a rocket on a relay throw from the outfield to catch a TKA runner at the plate by a foot and a half. I believe that it was either Ryan or Adam on the initial throw into the infield.
Many thanks to all of our fans out today including Ben Cass, Nate Cass, Jack Borins (scorekeeper), Max Borins and Quincy Gryfe. We also want to thank the coaching staff today who did a great job for us; they were Joe Cass (3rd base coach), Richard Banks (1st base coach) and Jeff Levy our bench coach.
Can’t wait until next week guys! Go Bs!
