February 3 in Grade 2

February is Disability Awareness Month. This past Sunday, the Grade 2s did an activity that taught them the importance of knowing that no matter how different people look, we are all made up of the same things. In Judaism there is that phrase that we are all created “b’tzelem Alochim,” in the image of God. This week, each student was given the same materials and told to build a person. We predicted that even though each student had the same materials, the end result of their person was different. We thought of how we can apply this to our lives and communities.

In Hebrew class we learned a new vowel. It makes an “eh” sound. We did a review of the past vowels we have learned and played Bingo with the different sounds.
