December 9 in Grade 2

This week in Grade 2 we continued learning about Chanukah! We got to decorate Chanakah cookies and we learned how to play dreidel. We learned what all the letters on the dreidel stand for and we even got to make our own 3D dreidels our of paper!

In Hebrew class we learned 3 new letters! We learned “Ayin” which is silent unless it has a vowel under it,we learned “Chet” which makes the sound of a “H” like at the beginning of the word Hummus, and we learned the letter “Nun” which makes the sound of an “N”. Lastly, we added three new words to our Hebrew vocabulary! Shema, which means hear, Challah, which means braided bread, and Navi, which means prophet!
